Bert's has had a house band playing soul and blues over ribs since before Eastern Market got trendy, and it's exactly the kind of loud-but-not-too-loud room where a conversation can survive the music. From there it's a short hop to Dearborn's Biergarten, where the picnic tables and steins slow everything down for the part of the night that's actually about talking.
