Corktown, Around the Bookstacks
Marcus (Be There team) shared this with you
John K. King's five floors of used and rare books sit right at Lafayette and Trumbull, but we couldn't pin down current hours or exhibit status for this one, so the plan leans on the strip of Corktown around it instead — still worth the trip even if the stacks are locked. Coffee, a glass of something, gelato, and a beer to close, all within a few blocks of the store's front door.

Lucky Detroit Corktown
second floor of Detroit Barbers, Corktown, Detroit
Vanilla Bourbon Latte and a window seat while you wait to see if the bookstore's open.
3:30 PM
Folk Detroit
corner of Bagley and Trumbull, Corktown, Detroit
Wine and a shareable plate at the corner spot doubling as café and community room.
5:30 PM
Momento Gelato and Coffee
Bologna-trained gelato, made from scratch — coffee flavor if you're indecisive.
7:00 PM
Batch Brewing Company
Local beer to close the loop, still an easy walk from Lafayette Blvd.
If John K. King is actually open when we get there, what happens?
